Electronic Engineering Summer Internship

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Student to join our dynamic team for a summer internship. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in gaming and technology and possess excellent problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for testing our new products in our gaming controller ecosystem under the guidance of our excellent and experienced development and testing team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting for prototypes and existing electronics hardware
  • Collaborate with other teams on design ideas to make prototypes of new modules
  • Assist in design and development of electronics PCBs and other circuits and systems
  • Support the documentation of electronic designs, including schematics, PCB layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in engineering.
  • Complete assigned tasks and deliverables within specified timelines using agile methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with electronic circuit design principles and tools such as Altium, Eagle, or KiCad.
  • Basic understanding of analog and digital electronics components and circuits.
  • Experience in soldering and PCB assembly techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior internship or project experience in engineering is a plus.

Location

This position is based in our office in Briarhill Business Park in Galway. You will need to be located in the office with our team to complete testing and designs.

Hours & Compensation

The role is unpaid, but there will be a contribution towards travel and food costs. The role requires 30-40 hours per week. Some of our past interns have gone on to work at ByoWave. Our small team will need to grow as we expand and this work represents a good opportunity to become part of this exciting journey.
