Whats the difference between the Upgraded Proteus Controller Kit and the first iteration of the Proteus Controller?

I have an older Proteus Controller, will I be able to take advantage of features like HID mode and macros?

Features like HID mode and macros were introduced after a major system and connectivity protocol update, which could not be supported on the first-generation Proteus hardware.
