Until now, if you wanted to use two Proteus controllers at once, the setup was a headache: you had to use two separate USB dongles and rely on Xbox Controller Assist to make them work together. We heard your feedback loud and clear—it was clunky, it took up too many ports, and it wasn't the seamless experience we wanted for you.

We’ve rebuilt our connectivity from the ground up to bring you Akimbo. You can now pair two Proteus controllers directly to a single USB dongle that comes included with your controller..

What is Akimbo?

Inspired by the classic "dual-wield" stance, Akimbo is a massive firmware breakthrough for all V2 Proteus Dongles. This update allows a single USB receiver to handle two full Proteus Power Cubes simultaneously.

Whether you’re splitting your controllers for better ergonomics or building a custom flight-sim cockpit, you can now Go Akimbo with a single connection. One port. Two controllers

A Note for Our V1 Community

We know many of you are rocking our original V1 hardware. While the V1 dongle itself doesn't have the internal architecture to support Akimbo mode, your V1 Power Cubes are fully compatible with V2 Dongles.

If you are a V1 owner and want to declutter your setup or add a second controller, you can simply pick up a standalone V2 Dongle. Your existing V1 Power Cube will sync right up, allowing you to take full advantage of Akimbo Mode.

Flash the Firmware: Open the Proteus Software, head to the dongle menu and connect your dongle to trigger a Firmware Update and follow the steps from there.
Double Up: Follow the on-screen pairing guide to link your second controller to your primary dongle.
